There was a definite small arrival of migrants this morning and it was pleasing to record a few Whitethroats as they seem to have really suffered due to the cold wet weather this summer.

Offshore
1 Gannet, 35 Common Scoter and 12 Sandwich Tern. Also 2 Atlantic Grey Seals.

Visible Migration
1 Tree Pipit south, 2 Tree Sparrow east, 4 Sand Martin east, 43 Swallow east and 1 Greenshank south.

Grounded Migrants
7 Wheatear, 5 Whitethroat, 7 Willow Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler and 1 Blackcap.

Others
83 Ringed Plover, 78 Sanderling, 180 Dunlin, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Snipe and 106 Turnstones.

Ringing
8 Reed Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Willow Warbler , 2 Swallow and 1 Reed Bunting.
