A Grey Phalarope was picked up flying into the bay this morning; it landed on the sea just west of the Observation tower and remained on the sea for 20 minutes. It was difficult to see because of the rough sea, but every so often would fly up then settle back onto the sea. It flew off west and seemed to land on the sea by the point but could not be relocated. Also of note was a 1CY Black Guillemot which flew west.

A decent seawatching day with much better visibility than the weekend. The highlights being three species of Skua, a single Leach`s Petrel and 105 Little Gulls.

After a lack of gales during Sept/Oct strong winds finally produced a decent seawatch! The highlight was a cracking juvenile Great Northern Diver which flew past the tower just offshore allowing the opportunity to take some nice photos of the bird. Also seen were a single Leach`s Petrel, 3 Great Skuas and 84 Little Gulls.

its "peep" call from an area of willows near one of the net rides before later being trapped.
