The best action was over the sea today and the highlight was the Observatory`s highest spring day count of Little Terns.

Offshore
17 Common Scoters west, 3 Red-breasted Mergansers east, 12 Red-throated Divers east & 1 on the sea, 2 Manx Shearwaters west, 16 Gannets west, 1 Great Crested Grebe east, 6 Arctic Skuas east, 2 Little Gulls east, 19 Little Terns; flocks of 9,6 & 4 east, 4 Black Terns east, 16 Sandwich Terns east, 3 Common Terns east, 184 Arctic Terns east, 2 Razorbills and 1 Auk sp. west. Also 2 Atlantic Grey Seals.

Visible Migration
24 Whimbrels east, 2 Sand Martins east, 80 Swallows east, 2 House Martins east, 1 Yellow Wagtail east, 8 Alba Wagtails east, 2 Meadow Pipits north-east, 7 Goldfinch east, 1 Siskin east, 3 Linnets east and 1 Redpoll east.

Grounded Migrants:
4 Whimbrels, 2 Common Sandpipers, 4 Willow Warblers, 4 Wheatears and 1 White Wagtail.
