Two Wheatears found this afternoon were the first spring migrants to arrive and the 12th seems to be the average arrival date for Wheatears here in recent years.

Offshore 
20 Whooper Swans, 4 Shelducks east & 10 south, 25 Common Scoters east, 9 Red-breasted Mergansers, male Long-tailed Duck, 3 Red-throated Divers east and 1 Great Crested Grebe.

Visible Migration 
11 Whooper Swans north-east, 92 Pink-footed Geese north, 71 Woodpigeons east, 2 Jackdaws north-east, 5 Carrion Crows north-east, 1 Raven north, 2 Rooks east, 2 Grey Wagtails north-east, 14 Alba Wagtails north-east, 43 Meadow Pipits north-east, 3 Goldfinch east, 4 Siskins east, 11 Linnets east and 1 Reed Bunting east.

Grounded Migrants
1 Goldcrest and 2 Wheatears.

Others
75 Grey Plovers, 800 Knots, 120 Sanderlings, 1 Purple Sandpiper, 140 Turnstones, 1 Stonechat and 1 Chiffchaff.

Ringing:
1 Meadow Pipit and 3 Linnets.
