Arriving at the sea watching point at dawn in classic spring Skua weather proved very rewarding with the Obs first ever spring record of Long-tailed Skua. .The Skuas were coming in from the west, hitting the point and veering off to the north-east. The passage had eased off by 07:30 but 3 Pomarines, 10 Arctics and a single Long-tailed had moved through.

Offshore
21 Common Scoters west, 1 Red-breasted Merganser east, 2 Fulmars west, 33 Manx Shearwaters west, 44 Gannets east, 3 Grey Plovers west, 1,700 Knot west, 85 Bar-tailed Godwits west, 3 Pomarine Skuas - single party of light morphs north-east at 06:48, 10 Arctic Skuas north-east, 1 adult Long-tailed Skua north-east at 07:10, 1 Great Skua west, 22 Kittiwakes west, 12 Sandwich Terns west, 2 Arctic Terns east, 2 Guillemots west, 1 Razorbill east and 6 Auk sp. west.

Further observation during the evening produced 30 Common Scoters west, 3 Manx Shearwaters west, 4 Gannets west, 1 light morph Pomarine Skua east at 18:35, 2 Arctic Skuas east, 26 Sandwich Terns east, 1 Common Tern east and 1 Auk sp. west.

Visible Migration 
1 Swift east and 5 Swallows north.

Grounded Migrants
2 Willow Warblers, 3 Wheatears and 1 Yellow Wagtail.

28 Ringed Plovers, 110 Sanderlings, 150 Dunlins and 90 Turnstones.
