The day`s highlight was an Avocet seen over the marsh this afternoon, the first ever Autumn record, all the other records are of spring birds. Also another new Cetti's Warbler was trapped and ringed.

Offshore
9 Wigeons west, 4 Teal west, 14 Common Scoters west, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers and 1 Great Crested Grebe.

Visible Migration
362 Pink-footed Geese south, 1 Lapwing in off, 2 Snipe in off, 7 Skylarks south, 3 Grey Wagtails south, 14 Alba Wagtails south, 242 Meadow Pipits south/south-east, 22 Chaffinch south-east, 8 Goldfinch south, 14 Greenfinches south, 1 Siskin south and 1 Redpoll south.

Grounded Migrants
20 Goldcrests, 6 Coal Tits, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 5 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps, 4 Song Thrushes, 2 Robins, 2 Stonechats and 3 Wheatears.

Others
86 Wigeons, 100 Teal, 4 Shovelers, 2 Little Egrets, 1 Peregrine, 1 Water Rail, 1 Avocet, 74 Grey Plovers, 300 Knot, 1 Jack Snipe, 7 Snipe, 77 Black-tailed Godwits, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Med. Gull, 1 Barn Owl, 400 Goldfinch - largest flock for some time and 120 Linnets.
