A
very busy migration day with a fall of common migrants, the highlight being
three Pied Flycatchers.
The last time we had three birds in a day in spring was the late 1980s. Other
highlights were the years first Cuckoo, a Jay, which is rare here in Spring, 2
more Redstarts
and at least 80 Willow Warblers. Another Osprey flew through in the late morning,
and a quick ringing session during a coffee break resulted in 19 Lesser
Redpolls being
ringed.
