After strong overnight winds and heavy rain the morning was spent sea watching. The highlight being the latest ever Manx Shearwater to be recorded at the Obs, which flew west close inshore. This species is scarce here in October never mind November!!

Offshore
2 Pintails west, 12 Common Scoters west, 3 Red-throated Divers west, 1 Manx Shearwater west, 1 Gannet west, 12 Great Crested Grebes west, 1 Great Skua west, 150 Kittiwakes, 24 Little Gulls, 3 Guillemots west, 1 Razorbill west and 80 Auk sp. west.

Visible Migration 
1 Merlin 'in-off' and 1 Peregrine 'in-off'.

Grounded Migrants

2 Song Thrushes and 3 Redwings.

Others 

2 Gadwalls, 1 Goldeneye, 17 Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 Goosander, 28 Ringed Plovers, 53 Golden Plovers, 95 Grey Plovers, 500 Knot, 250 Sanderlings including two colour-ringed birds, 65 Black-tailed Godwits, 280 Turnstones, 2 Med. Gulls, 1 Stonechat and 7 Rock Pipits.
