A
murky start to the day with light drizzle at dawn dropped a few birds onto the
peninsular, the most
notable being a Siberian Chiffchaff found late in the afternoon. It was heard
calling frequently
from a patch of Hawthorns and seen briefly before disappearing. This was only
the 3rd
record of tristis to be recorded at the Obs and all have been in
November.

47 Eiders, 12 Common Scoters west, 6 Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Red-throated Divers
west and 2 Auk sp. west.
Visible
Migration
3 Fieldfares south, 2 Song Thrushes south, 26 Chaffinches south and 3
Redpolls south.
Grounded

2 Woodcocks, 5 Goldcrests, 1 Siberian Chiffchaff, 1 Chiffchaff, 1
Treecreeper - scarce here, 45 Blackbirds, 7 Song Thrushes and 5 Redwings.

800 Teal, 2 Gadwalls, 2 Goldeneyes, 12 Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 Merlin, 2
Water Rails, 140 Sanderlings, 55 Black-tailed Godwits, 1 Med. Gull, 1 Barn Owl and 1
Stonechat.
Ringing
1 Blue Tit, 1 Wren, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Robin, 1 Dunnock and 11 Reed Buntings.
