An early morning ringing session was highlighted by a large catch of Whitethroats and they were all this years birds. As with other species of Warblers they seemed to have had a bumper breeding season.

Whitethroat

Offshore
56 Common Scoters west, 4 Manx Shearwaters west, 8 Gannets west, 4 Knot west, 5 Kittiwakes east, 4 Common Terns east and 11 Sandwich Terns.

Visible Migration
26 Black-tailed Godwits east, 3 Swifts east and 6 Swallows south.

Others
1 Little Egret, 1 Peregrine, 11 Ringed Plovers, 1 Golden Plover, 120 Lapwings, 17 Sanderlings, 27 Dunlins, 3 Snipe, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 270 Curlews, 2 Common Sandpipers, 1 Greenshank, 1 adult Yellow-legged Gull and 2 Sand Martins.

Ringing 
23 Whitethroats, 1 Blackcap, 3 Sedge Warblers, 2 Reed Warblers, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Dunnock, 1 Robin, 10 Greenfinch and 1 Reed Bunting.
