Despite the strong southerly wind this morning there was a big movement of
Bramblings and Chaffinches, but little else was involved. By mid-morning, in increasing
winds, the birds were grounded in much of the cover along the coast.

9 Wigeons west, 4 Teal west, 30 Common Scoters west, 5
Red-breasted Mergansers west, 3 Red-throated Divers west, 1 Great Crested Grebe west
and 7 Auk sp. west.
Visible Migration
1 Fieldfare east, 1 Redwing in off, 2 Mistle Thrushes
south, 185 Bramblings south, 990 Chaffinch south, 1 Redpoll south and 1 Siskin
south.
Grounded Migrants
1 Goldcrest, 25 Blackbirds, 21 Redwings, 2 Song
Thrushes, 55 Bramblings and 170 Chaffinch.

1000 Pink-footed Geese, 470 Wigeons, 2 Gadwalls, 220 Teal, 2
Goldeneyes, 3 Little Egrets, 450 Lapwings, 27 Black-tailed Godwits, 130 Turnstones, 1
Med. Gull, 1 Merlin, 1 Raven, 2 Grey Wagtails and 3 Rock Pipits.
