Two
good birds were found today, the first was a very late Osprey over Rossall
Point late morning. It was picked
up after all the Gulls went up off the beach alarm calling, expecting maybe a
Rough-leg!!, it turned out
to be the latest Osprey by far at the Obs. It was circling over the sea for
about 5 minutes before drifting off east into the bay.
The
second good bird was found by visiting birders looking for the Greenland
White-front. A Bittern wandered out
from a reed fringed ditch at Fleetwood Farm and was watched walking south along
the field edge. It eventually
made its way south across the field to one of the reed fringed pools.
