The highlight of the day was going to be the autumn's first Osprey, until an
unprecedented arrival of Swifts in the early evening.
Offshore
3 Gannet, 7 Common Scoter, 1 Kittiwake, 26 Sandwich Tern, 5 Common Tern, 1 Little Tern, 2 Auk sp. and 3 Bar-tailed Godwits west.
Grounded Migrants
3 Whitethroat and 2 Willow Warblers.
Visible Migration
1 Osprey; in off and south at 13:05, 1 Whimbrel west, 22 Swallows south, 2 Sand Martin south and 3 House Martins south.

In the early evening a huge arrival of Swifts occurred with warm humid air
and low dark cloud; at least 800 birds were present along the north coast of the obs for 40 minutes before
departing.
It was hard to get a picture to do justice to the large numbers of

Others
53 Ringed Plover, 155 Sanderling, 230 Dunlin, 2 Snipe and 160 Turnstones.
Ringing
1 Robin, 2 Wren,1 Chiffchaff, 1 Willow Warbler and 13 Swallows.
