A male Firecrest was trapped and ringed this morning. This was the first ringing record for the Obs and is the first to be recorded in the Winter, all previous records have been Spring and Autumn birds.

Firecrest

Offshore
4 Shelducks east, 26 Common Scoters, 2 Velvet Scoters west, 17 Red-breasted Mergansers, 6 Red-throated Divers west, 1 Great Crested Grebe west and 1 Auk sp. west.

Visible Migration
155 Pink-footed Geese south and 12 Starlings south.

Others 
750 Pink-footed Geese, 500 Teal, 1 Gadwall, 5 Goldeneyes, 5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Little Egrets, 1 Peregrine, 60 Ringed Plovers, 250 Sanderlings, 2 Purple Sandpipers, 11 Snipe, 200 Turnstones, 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Firecrest, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 7 Rock Pipits, 40 Linnets and 9 Twite.

Ringing
1 Goldcrest, 1 Firecrest, 1 Blue Tit, 1 Great Tit and 2 Dunnock.
