The highlight today was a single Puffin that flew east into the bay this morning.

A few migrants were around this morning with 12 Spotted Flycatchers being the highlight. Offshore, 11 Black Terns moved through first thing and Sunday`s Garganey was seen again.

There was an arrival of migrants around the Obs today with a scattering of Garden Warblers, Spotted Flycatchers and Whinchats. The two best birds were seen on vis; the second Hobby of the spring flew through and a single Corn Bunting went east. Corn Buntings are just about annual here. In addition to the Hobby and Corn Bunting some other unusual species for the time of year were seen on vis including Wood Pigeons, Jackdaws and a Tree Sparrow; where are these species going in mid May?

A stunning full summer plumaged Great Northern Diver offshore, a brief male 'Blue-headed' Wagtail and a lingering Marsh Harrier were the highlights today.

A light SE wind and rain first thing dropped a few new birds in today before the wind increased and veered SW. The highlights were a single Wood Sandpiper, a Wood Warbler and the first Spotted Flycatcher of the spring. Other new finds included single Yellow-legged and Glaucous Gulls, plus 4 Black Terns offshore.
