Another
Whoosh netting session to catch and leg flag the wintering Turnstones was
attempted today
and another 14 individuals were caught and processed. In addition to this two Black-headed Gulls were ringed which was a new ringing record for the obs.
Offshore
11 Wigeon east, 150 Common Scoters, 8 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4
Red-throated
Divers west & 1 on the sea, 3 Great Crested Grebes and 2 Auk sp. west.
Visible
Migration
37 Pink-footed Geese in off and then SE.
Others
6 Whooper Swans, 1 Water Rail, 1 Peregrine, 180 Golden Plovers, 600
Lapwings, 300
Knot, 95 Black-tailed Godwits, 1 Med. Gull, 2 Short-eared Owls,1 Stonechat,
2 Grey Wagtails
and 8 Rock Pipits.
Ringing
2 Black-headed Gulls, 14 Turnstones and 5 Starlings.
