A Siberian Chiffchaff was today's highlight being found late in the afternoon. It was picked up giving its distinct "peep"  call from some Willow scrub near one of our net rides and was eventually trapped & ringed. The second Black Redstart of the month was seen briefly on the beach this morning.

Another decent day despite the clear bright blue skies! A Richard's Pipit was picked up on call at 09:30 flying high over the vis watch point at Rossall, it called several times then seemed to latch onto a group of seven Skylarks heading east.

In the early afternoon while checking the farm fields for any geese a raptor was seen being mobbed by Corvids as it flew over Amounderness Way - a Red Kite! After doing a quick u-turn and blocking most of the the road it was lost behind Dead Wood.

The other highlight today was the Ob's latest ever Willow Warbler which was trapped & ringed. It looked like an acredula type on plumage and size.

The highlight today was a Hawfinch which was picked up on call as it came in from the east and dropped into the Mount just as it started to rain. The bird was found skulking in dense cover on the east bank where it remained for a couple of minutes before flying off calling to the south. Also another Yellow-browed Warbler was in the Mount this morning.
